Chak's Palak Kebab

Chak's Palak  Kebab

India is a land of many heavenly deities and there are as many incarnations of God as there are days in a thousand years. It is but a given fact that each of those godly incarnations have followers in different parts of the country. There's a special day of each week reserved to pay special obeisance to Him or Her. Such days are normally vegetarian meal days (God looks the other way during the rest of the week!)
Whether or not you are a devout devotee, here are some vegetarian recipes to help you though those vegetarian days.

Ingredients :-
4 slices of fresh bread
250 gms of fresh Spinach ( Palak )
100 gms Grated cheese, good quantity
2 tsp onion paste
2 tsp garlic paste
4 green chillies finely chopped
1 onion finely chopped
1 tsp pepper powder
Oil to deep fry
Salt to taste

Preparation :- Soak the slices of bread in water. When well soaked, drain out the water and put the slices in a bowl. Add all the ingredients and mix well. sprinkle salt in the mixture and make large balls. Make a depression in the ball and stuff grated cheese. Roll the balls again tight and fry 2 or 3 at a time to golden brown. Serve hot with chilli sauce or Mint sauce.
A good accompaniment with drinks (but do make sure you are not drinking on the 'holy' day; God may frown!)
