Chak's Paneer Pasand :-
Hungering for something creamy, spicy and soul satisfying? Something that brings on that grateful burrrp at the end of the meal which says, "hey! that was goooood"!?
I have just the dish for you.
Ingredients
500 gm soft Paneer (Casein),well mashed or grated.
2 TSP garlic paste
1 cup of chopped spring onion leaves
4 medium sized onion chopped.
200 gms Green Peas
1 cup finely chopped Coriander leaf.
2 stick of Cinnamon, 1 inch sized each, roughly broken into slivers
4 green Cardamom
4 cloves
1 TSP Turmeric (Haldi) powder
2 TSP Cumin powder
1 TSP Cumin seed
2 TSP Kashmiri Chilly powder.
4 large Potatoes boiled & cut in to 1" size cubes
4 TBSP Butter or vegetable oil.
Salt to taste.
Preparation
Heat butter/oil in a deep pan, Throw in the Cinnamon, Cardamom, Cloves and Cumin seeds. Stir for a minute and add chopped onions. Fry till onion becomes golden brown in color. Add Turmeric & Cumin powder, stir for a minute and add garlic paste, Kashmiri chilly powder & salt to taste. Stir the ingredients well and add ½ cup of water. Now mix ½ cup water with the Paneer and make a thick paste before adding the paneer water mix to the pan. Stir well & add potato cubes, green peas, spring onion leaves and coriander leaves. If needed add a little more water. Cook for 7-10 minutes till the mixture has a thick creamy consistency. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with yellow rice or Paratha.
